National Engineers Week
National Engineers Week is February 21-27, 2027
National Engineers Week celebrates engineering by raising awareness about the contributions of engineers to society. It is a great opportunity to help students explore these questions and discover where a career in engineering could take them!
For the 14th consecutive year, ACEC Indiana is bringing practicing engineers into elementary, middle and high school classrooms, with a goal of reaching students in every county across Indiana! During a classroom visit, civil engineers from Indiana’s public and private sectors will help students:
- Learn what civil engineers do and how their work impacts their communities.
- Explore engineering concepts through hands-on activities or group presentations.
- Ask questions and have a conversation with a real, practicing engineer!
No special preparation is needed from teachers! We'll make the visit easy, engaging, and meaningful for you and your students! ACEC Indiana will accommodate at least one classroom visit request from every teacher and will consider additional visits based on volunteer availability.

Volunteers
Volunteers will receive 1 PDH credit for their involvement in National Engineers Week 2027. ACEC Indiana will host virtual Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, January 20, 2027 from 10-11 AM ET. At this meeting, you will be joined by volunteers from ACEC Indiana and the public sector to learn more about your volunteer service, how to prepare for your presentation and sign up for your classroom visit(s).
