National Engineers Week

National Engineers Week celebrates and promotes the field of engineering by raising awareness about the contributions of engineers to society and to inspire the next generation of engineers. During "EWeek", a wide range of activities and events are held across the country to engage students, educators, and the general public in learning about engineering and its impact on our daily lives.

National Engineers Week with ACEC Indiana

ACEC Indiana is celebrating the 13th year of hosting classroom visits during National Engineers Week (February 22-28, 2026). Indiana-based volunteers in the civil engineering profession will speak at elementary, middle and high schools across the State of Indiana. Our volunteers share experiences from their careers, describe what civil engineers do on a day-to-day basis and how their work impacts the world we live in.

Submissions for 2026 classroom visits open on October 1, 2026. Teachers can Sign up to receive EngINeeringEd, our quarterly educators newsletter, to be notified when the form opens.

Volunteers from ACEC Indiana and our partners connected with over 7,300 students during EWeek 2025.

Watch to see our statewide impact!

ACEC Indiana President David Lahey and Liz Walker preview activities teachers and parents can do with students to teach engineering during EWeek.

Then K-12 Education Committee Chair Ken Olson and Liz Walker discuss the importance of our classroom visits and why kids should meet engineers.
