Goal: Advocate for legislation that supports the consulting engineering industry
Responsibilities:
- Monitor activities involving the General Assembly
- Make recommendations for proactive legislation
Meets every Friday during the legislative session
(Jan.- March in 2026)
Chair: David Goffinet, Lochmueller Group
Goal: Bolster talent pipeline of professional engineers, surveyors and others that service the consulting engineering industry
Responsibilities:
- Liaison with higher education institutions on a regular cadence
- Liaison with industry partners that focus on talent development
- Promote and score scholarship program
- Develop indirect recruiting assistance through building a case for civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, and structural engineering opportunities in Indiana
Meets 5 times per year
Chair: Aaron Blank, Lawson-Fisher Associates
Goal: Encourage more young students to take interest in STEM fields and enroll in postsecondary in engineering or related fields
Responsibilities:
- Liaison with K-12 counselors and career and technical education (CTE) centers to promote engineering profession and related fields
- Establish Volunteer Ambassador program and online tool to boost student outreach in the classroom and community partnership opportunities
- Promote National Engineers Week and solicit volunteers for classroom presentations
Meets 6 times per year
Chair: David Wichman, Clark Dietz
Goal: Assist with planning and promotion professional development opportunities for firm professionals
Responsibilities:
- Assist with Emerging Professionals events and promotion of Young Engineer of the Year Award
- Assist with online continuing education programs (once a biennium)
Meets 4 times per year
Chair: Alex Kline, Infrastructure Engineering
Goal: Foster an engaged, inclusive and diverse ACEC membership
Responsibilities:
- Encourage greater participation, inclusion and belonging within the association
- Focus on membership retention in creating an inclusive environment at ACEC programs
- Oversee D/M/W/VBE initiatives
- Promote Membership Networking Fair and Mentor Protégé Program
Chair: Jason Taylor, Burgess & Niple
Goal: Advocate for use of QBS statewide
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients on the benefits of using QBS in procurement of professional services

Goal: Liaison with IDEM and engage in discussions of national environmental trends

- Liaison with IDEM
Chair: Mark Krenzke, Strand Associates
Goal: Liaison with IDEM and engage in discussions of national environmental trends

Chair: Amy Noel, Metric Environmental
Goal: Liaison with IDNR on matters related to consulting engineering
Responsibilities:
- Liaison with Indy DPW
Chair: Jesse Combs, BLA, Inc.
Goal: Engage with the Fire Prevention & Building Safety Commission and other partners on matters of relevance to structural and MEP issues
Responsibilities:
- Liaisons with Building Commissioner, Fire Prevention & Building Safety Commission
- Addresses issues of mechanical, electrical and structural disciplines
Chair: Chris Carson, Intertek PSI
Goal: Work with OCRA, USDA/RD, IFA/ SRF, IU Public Policy Institute and more to ensure ACEC member firms have updated information on funding resources
Responsibilities:

Goal: Liaison with INDOT on matters related to consulting engineering
