National Engineers Week
National Engineers Week is February 22-28, 2026
National Engineers Week celebrates and promotes the field of engineering by raising awareness about the contributions of engineers to society and to inspire the next generation of engineers. During "EWeek", a wide range of activities and events are held across the country to engage students, educators, and the general public in learning about engineering and its impact on our daily lives.
ACEC Indiana is celebrating the 13th year of hosting classroom visits during National Engineers Week (February 22-28, 2026). Indiana-based volunteers in the civil engineering profession will speak at elementary, middle and high schools across the State of Indiana. Our volunteers share experiences from their careers, describe what civil engineers do on a day-to-day basis and how their work impacts the world we live in.
Classroom Visits
Teachers are encouraged to submit classroom visit requests by the December 19, 2025 priority deadline. Requests submitted after this date are not guaranteed.Â
- Teachers may request up to five (5) presentations/ sessions to host an engineer in the classroom.
- ACEC Indiana will accommodate at least one (1) request from every teacher and will consider additional visits based on volunteer availability.
- Classroom visits require at least 30 minutes of speaking time for the presentation, or 60+ minutes for a hands-on activity.
- Be sure to specify times, grade level, classroom size etc., which will all be helpful when organizing our many volunteers.
- Please be aware that ACEC volunteer presenters are mainly in the civil engineering field (transportation, water and building infrastructure).
