NATIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK | February 16-22, 2025
National Engineers Week celebrates and promotes the field of engineering by raising awareness about the contributions of engineers to society and to inspire the next generation of engineers. It is important to help students explore careers early on their educational journey, as 74% of educators believe students do not have many chances to meet engineers... but YOU can change that by volunteering during EWeek.
Indiana-based engineers affiliated with ACEC Indiana, Citizens, Indy DPW, INDOT and other public agencies are needed to make presentations at an Indiana elementary, middle or high schools statewide. The National Engineers Week 2024 Impact Brief outlines the program's growth, and we expect even more interest from teachers this year!
ACEC Indiana members, Citizens, Indy DPW, INDOT and public agency staff
ACEC will host Volunteer Orientation in January 2025. At this meeting, you will be joined by volunteers from ACEC Indiana and the public sector to learn more about your volunteer service, how to prepare for your presentation and sign up for your classroom visit(s). Prior to this meeting, you will receive a listing of all available schools and dates/times so you can brainstorm what offering would work best for your schedule.
For the presentation, we ask that you utilize the ACEC Indiana presentation templates, but customize them to include perspectives about your career in engineering and relevant projects you have worked on. ACEC will provide you with additional resources to aid in your presentation to students.
Volunteers will receive 1 PDH credit for their involvement in National Engineers Week.
